Our lives are filled with repetition, repeating moments, rhetoric and deja vu. We live our lives, we make our lives. What we make of these so-called lives is determined individually by our actions. We each decide what paths to take, oblivious to all but the most immediate consequences. But we are content to live out our existences, as long as that future remains uncertain. The man who knows his final destination is a sad man indeed. My path is shrouded, and I eagerly await the next turn. I am happy. I am Laughing.

Actually, I just wrote it off the top of my head, but the significance of Laughing man is to display the anonymous, or vague and uncertain, nature of life. It also signifies the contention we have with our lives as such. If you knew what was going to happen before it did, you would no longer have the will to see it through. The beauty of life is that we make it what it is. It's an open-ended adventure on the grandest scale, a story with no true end. That is why we can keep going in life.

That's why I'm laughing. I'm laughing for joy.
